Balanced
The fund’s balanced structure and diversified portfolio derives returns from the rise in equity markets while providing relative protection against falls.
Fund Type Description: The fund has no portfolio restriction, but is required to maintain a portfolio of at least 25% equities as per its type designation.
Strategy: In managing the Balanced Fund we aim to provide a return to the investor without too much risk with a balanced portfolio structure. Accordingly, we maintain a portfolio of no less than 25% and no more than 55% equities, investing the rest of the fund in treasury bills, government bonds, and fixed-return instruments like repo.
Investor Profile: Investors who seek to benefit from the rising price of ISE index stocks without accepting too much risk.
Minimum Transaction Amount: Multiples of 1 share.
Benchmark: 35% ISE-30 Index + 60% KYD Bill Index – 91-day + 5% KYD Gross Repo Index.
Terms of Transaction: Buying orders received between 09:00-13:00 hours are effected on T+1 over the T+1 price, and selling orders on T+2 over the T+1 price. Buying orders received after 13:00 hours are effected on T+2 over the T+2 price, and selling orders on T+3 over the T+2 price.
Primary Benefit: Earns on the rise of ISE 30 index while largely protecting the investor during a bear market, providing attractive returns in the long-term.
Reminder: During the times of steep climbs, the potential for high returns is more limited than our Equity Mutual Fund.
